Interpersonal skills
Public speaking, conflict resolution, getting to know you, etiquette.
Arts/Civics
Theatrical play and child designed sets about the Constitution.
Animal Husbandry/Gardening
Milking goats, making cheese, freeze drying, germinating plants.
Community Service
Recording personal histories, visit nursing home residents, neighborhood cleanup.
Money matters
Building a business, budgeting, personal finance, economics.
Critical thinking
Socratic discussion, reason and logic, fact vs opinion, logical fallacies.
Life Skills
CPR, self-defense, meditation, cooking, wilderness skills, changing car tires, using tools.
Career Preparation
Professionals share and teach students about their skills/profession.
T-Th Daily Schedule
Core subject learning is often movement based to activate minds and bodies.
Math includes pattern recognition and games.
Language arts includes journaling, typing, and student teaching of reading (as a sample).
Lunch includes free play
Field trips and project/activity learning are theme and location based.
Core learning is from 9:30-11:30, lunch is from 11:30-12:30, and field trips are 12:30-3:00.
